LONDON.
London was of course a great experience for art students, It has a variety of different art galleries that of course suit everyone including myself. My final major project is on Emotions, and it is called 'Suppression'. I firstly went to the V&A I found all the performance part of V&A was great, all the facial expressions ever great. There was one photo and sculpture that count my eye during the time.
Masks for The Oresteia, 1981. These masks were designed by Jocelyn Herbert for the Greek.
I found these sculpture emotional because of the way the eye, mouth and nose Is missing the facial expressions really make me think there are depressed or many people hiding away there true emotions by where this mask. The mask make me look deep into there eyes almost like their are trying to hypnotise the people looking at the faces.
During my time in my final major project I am going to make sculptures of my body shape of clay, I have used these as a reference, and inspiration to do my final pieces.
I will base my design on a actual human body shape and be exact as possible.
I really like these sculpture I find them every different and I like the jagged edge of the top of the sculpture.
