I am proud to tell you that all of Level 3 have helped in the Craft Fair, making Christmas card, Christmas tree decorations, Necklaces and earrings. To help with the Kenya Project,
Millions of children in Kenya can not go to school because they can not pay for school uniform, pen, pencil and school books. However thousand of people all across the world are helping with the Kenya Project and help millions of children have a great school life and grow up becoming what they dream so much about.
Level 3 Art & Design have made brilliant Christmas gifts and decorations for this project and we have all raised around £250. They will be more craft fairs next year that will go towards the Kenya Poject as well.
WELL DONE LEVEL 3's :)

Book Burning!
Booking Burning was mostly know for the Nazis, in 1933 When All the Nazis came together with millions of member of the public and protested against Jewish books being sold. They Had a massive bomb fire party and they dance, sang song, played games and then throw all Jewish book that they could get hold of from local library's, shops and writer. Millions of Jewish books were burnt that night and replaced with brain washing Nazis books, to brain wash children, students, and member of the public. They did this to show why their way was best to follow and why they hated Jewish people.
I burnt a sex book that I got from a charity shop that were not being sold. It's not being I hate the fact about sex it is because I read that an Artist Corniella Parket Burnt sex taps, and protested against pornographic taps She then boiled them and made the taps into a ink and draw body parts and portray sex and what people see as sex. Which I think is a good idea, But instead of drawing body parts I could draw something that happened in 1933 with the Book Burning period.

PinHole Camera.
If you got an old film tube, you can make more and more photos from just a film tube.
First you get the tube and cut a square hole in the middle on the tube not the lid. you then glue foil on the inside covering the square hole. You then poke a little hole in the foil, small as a pin hole.. To make no light get in before you leave the dark room you put a black card over the holes you have cut so no light gets in. and it should look like this.. ------ >
While you are in the dark room you insert the paper in the tube, make sure the card is over the pinhole. You then go outside and see what you want to take as an image. You then place it down where you want and open the card door and wait about 45 second. It also depends on what the weather it like and how light it is outside.
These are my pin hole images.
I was a bit ropey, But it think it was a great first time capture and lovely lighting. I really like this images and i was so pleased with it :) the texture on the pavement and wall. which was a great success!.
This is my favourite pinhole image. I the camera in a bush and waited 45 second and took it out. I didn't realise that it would have been so detail. The marks in the tree you can see all the textures, depth. I love this pinhole image >.<

So christmas is coming and my class and the class below are making things for ours christmas craft fait. we have made Christmas earring, necklaces and Christmas cards.
We mounted them on card that will suit the colour of the earrings.
we glazed with on glaze, lusters and glazes. We then put earring backs on them and butterflies back to make them earrings.
Theres are the hollys that me and Kirsty Poland made, She cut the hollys out and I glazes them, My class tutors put the earrings back on them and the beads on them.
I really like these they are Christmasy and great for our fait.
In Cermaics I have made a few pages from clay with qoutes that mean something to me. I am a bubbly 18 year old lady and is full of engry but some moment in the day i have a few meanful mood swings and the words I say really effect others around me, i like to express my feelings in different ways. And nobody sees me upset. I put on this front that I am a tough cookie, But tough cookies are soft inside. I am a very emotional human being but I never show it and using these pages can show people the true me and whats behind the front.
I wrote this because this is true, How maybe of you really express your feeling and not hurt other people feeling? Because I do, When im moody i take it out on people, when im tired i take it out on people and also when im sad, and happy there is not any emotion that i dont. I have noticed. I take these emotional out on people i truly care about and love. maybes its to push them away or maybe its to test them? Test them that if they truly cared and loved me back they would support me and my emotional swings.
Firstly I had to roll out the clay using rulers to keep the clay the same size all the way around and level. Then i have to cut the edge to make it look like i've riped the rages out. Then i had to but wood on them so they wouldn't curl on the edges and lay it down.
Then i put it in the kilm. so it can cook.
Then after its cooled down take it out of the kilm. I put a black under glaze on the clay and painted over it with clear glaze.
Then i have to put it back into the kilm for the finishing touches.

So my new project is homage for books which i am enjoying already, the amount of things you can do with this project is great. I have to limit myself to 3 colours, so i have chosen brown, blue and peach. I can also use black and white because they are not colours :)
I have researched maybe didn't thinks that invole books, I have looked at 1933 book burning. The Nazis. Which is deep and very intersting to look at. I have burnt a book. I have used Corniella Parker as an artist research, Corniella Parker burnt pornagraphic vidoe tap and made then into ink to draw with them. I have wrote about her in my blog down below.
I went to a charity shop and asked for old books that they are not selling to help with my research. I had 20 books and 5 of them were sex books. So I used my artist reseach and burn them then drew with the asses.! This i was effective and you could still see the asses in the ink black smokey looking.

Life Drawing.
Firstly I have to cut my paper. I used A3 and then put it onto a wooden board to draw on, to practise to draw with the board up right in stead of drawing on the table.! I used gummy tap to stick the paper to the board. Gummy tap ( cut the tap the size you want it then put it under the tap to wet the tap and help it stick. Place the tap where you want it and stick.) This will keep the paper in the same place until you want to peel it off.
On a Friday I had a life drawing class and draw her sitting backward for a different pose that i haven't done before I quickly draw her body shape and some of her shaded areas. I then painted her skin, hair and blanket tones using a smaller brush to get all the detail.

This is the paint I used.
I think used a coffee wash as my ground to work on. I put coffee into a cup and added wash, the brush it on and splated it on to leave a old effect. I think the skin marks should be blending in more. I do like the back ground and the blanket it has been painted like jennie saville and way the marks and lose and the brush strokes also light and dark areas.
APERTURE.
Aperture. The smaller the hole, the larger the hole and the harger the hole the smaller hole.
So the smaller the hole to more images ? for a landscape. The bigger the hole the smaller the image? so confusing :/

On my camera I Put my aperture on 8 4.5 to make this image so the hole on the camera would be bigger to make the focus.
My First Image in the dark room.
Group Work. Me, Rachel, Carys and Summer.
We had to work with different materials and objects and create a image, using or creative side and other object.
We used a film camera and took in turns. We had 8 turns each. Using the mode ( APERTURE.) That focus;s the object closer to the camera and leaving the back ground all fuzzing and out of focus.
MY FAVOURITE IMAGE.

MY FAVOURITE IMAGE.
I love this image because its different and full of the object we were giving, I like the focus of the image and the way the way out was. I think this was a good success. The depth of the skin and the rope going around Cary's hand, and the cards all fuzzing in the back ground. I also think this image look a little vintage, because the old wool cardigan and the rope and old cards. I really like how her tattoo is on her wrist.
The only thing i would change is the other hand in the back ground. I really think if her hand wasn't there it would be professional as a first camera print.
The dark room is starting to be one of my favourite room in the world. However there is a lot of things that need to be done and it is a little bit difficult on your first go.
Dark Room Instructions. (Black And White).
CHOOSING THE NEGATIVE.
*Firstly of course you have to shoot from a film camera and pick your negative that you want. Use a light box ( outside the dark room) to see your negative that you want, Or just hold the negative up to the red light in the dark room.
*Place your image in the shiny side up in the negative carrier. Hold the image up to the light to make sure that the negative fill the fame.
*To open the enlarger head by turning the knob on the left. Put the negative carrier in the opening, The carrier will fit snuggly in the grooves made for it.
* Close the enlarger head, Make sure the image is in the right place by flashing the light one 1 second.
FOCUSING THE IMAGE.
*There is an aperture ring on the lens. I set mine to 5.6. Because i like my images a darker focus. If it's a lower number the light the image will be.
* Flash the light, for 10 second just to make the focus right, ( ask if anyone has image paper out.)
To focus the image, turn the knob on the right! I make my image fuzzy and the slow turn the focus knob to the right focus. This Will Focus Your Image.
* So the focus is on your image is great. so now it's time to test the negative.
Turn off the light and pull out a piece of paper. Your paper size should be half an A4 paper to save paper. (:
*Place the strip on the easel (in your predetermined area) with the shiny side up. and set the flash time to 2 seconds.
*Place the card board paper over the photo paper leaving 2cm from the start of the paper. Then press the flash light on, When you hear it click the light will go off! Move the card board paper across and press the flash light on again. Do this for all the 2 cm until the end of the paper.
DEVELOPMENT.
The are four development to create your image.
First there is the Developer!
*Slide the test strip into the developer, making sure it gets completely covered with chemicals. use the togs to move the images around to make sure all the chemicals is on the image paper.
The paper should be in the chemical for 2 minutes.
When the time is up hold the paper with the togs on the corner of the paper, tip the chemical off the paper by tilting the image to let the chemical drip. (Your should start to have an image already!)
Secondly the Stop Bath
*Let the photo sit in this tray for 30 seconds to stop the developer from processing.
Again leave the chemical drip off the paper.
Thirdly the Fixer
*Place the photo in the fixer. After 30 seconds, the photo is safe to be viewed in the light. For the photo to be archival later, it needs to be in the fixer for 5 minutes..
Then lastly the Wash.
* Leave the photo in the wash to get all the chemical off. Leave in for 10 minutes.
MAKING THE FINAL PRINT.
Your test strip should have 6 or 8 regions, ranging from light to dark. Pick the middle or closer to the start because that is a good range on light and darks.
AFTER you finish and have chosen your time you want your image. Do this method all over but take care! As this is a final print and you want it to look amazing. (:

Cornelia Parker works with found object and through display!
Cornelia was disgusted by pornographic videos and so she tried to get rid of as much as she could. She then got as many video she should and boiled the tap and turned then into ink to draw with, She drawing sexual object from the body to pretray what they are in a abstract way. She took the video taps that re moment images to a still sexual image in its self.
I like how she took something she really hated and was disgusted in and made something artist in every way. The inky feel and the patterns in the ink almost look like veins. They collection in the ink look like the tap in the video with is really effective and shows us that it is from a sex tap but you wouldn't know until the read would read artist collections.

Everyone has their own way of drawing as artists. Mine is my own way and no other way.
I move the pencil quickly and confidently and shade each area used a shading-blender to create a softer and less jagged edge. I have shade the edges and create a move life effect which give it move depth and movement within a human form. It also shows the light and dark areas where the sun light was hitting.
I think this was a success. It was my first ever skeleton drawing and I used my time well to create a good body of work. I could of finished it but I will not make it up with out looking a the skeleton object.

These are my slab (building) panels. I used buff clay, which is a gray coloured clay. My project is abstraction so I wanted to just use circles, squares, and lines which I took from my other design I created earlier in the project. Firstly I rolled out the clay, using guide rulers to help the clay stay the same size and heigh all the way around. [I measured them 10cm across and 22cm down.] I used a variety of different tools to create my panels, I used guide ruler, knife to cut the clay and draw into the clay. a kidney to smooth and not leave bumps in the clay and a rubber tool to make the marks in the clay with out leaving crumbly edges. These were a succesfful because they worked well together and the shapes and marks on the clay add detail and depth even though they are just shapes.

Using Adobe Illustrator I wanted to experiment using a paint brush to practice using different materials in illustrator. My project is Abstraction so I wanted it to be abstract as possible, I just used a simple 1.8brush, Using a variety colour on a colour palette (From the brightest colours to the darkest colours). I used a rage of colours to show spectrum within the image.
Using Adobe Photoshop I used the same techniques but instead of a paint brush I used block shapes to control where and how my colours are going to sit. I think the colours stand out and are more controled in this image.
*I prefer the other image because of the loose flow of the brush marks. Also I prefer how the colours are not blocked colours!..
